ABOUT ME

Background:

I am an aspiring software engineer currently studying at Stony Brook University. I've held several part time jobs through my high school and college career, and now I am looking to start my career in the technology industry.

EXperience:

At Stony Brook, I have been studying Computer Science. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in the field, and I expect to graduate in December of 2021.

As part of my education, I have learned to program in several different programming languages, and have learned the ins and outs of concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and technical communications, along with the fundamentals of software engineering and the MERN stack.

My studies and background have led me to develop skills that I feel would be helpful in any workplace. More information about that can be found on my skills page.

Passions:

Aside from studying and learning about computers, I also take pride in giving back to my community.

I volunteer at my local mosque, the Suffolk Islamic Center. There, I teach children at the Sunday School. I also helped maintain their website and database of contact information for mosque members.

I also volunteer at the Sachem Public Library, a place that allows me to meet all kinds of people from diverse backgrounds.

At school, I enjoy taking part in the Model United Nations club on campus. I have been involved in similar types of clubs since my second year of high school. As part of this club, I travel to other colleges and take part in debates and work together to solve problems that face the world today.

Other clubs I enjoy taking part in include the Stony Brook Computing Society as well the Actors' Conservatory.

These activities have endowed me good people skills, as well as the ability to speak in public and to an audience. Teamwork is an essential skill in all these activities, and I have gotten quite good at that, too.
